Wealth Well Done
You’ve heard the narrative that the super wealthy don’t pay taxes and the rich keep getting richer. Unless your net worth has reached family office status, you likely don’t have access to understand how they do it. In this weekly podcast designed for affluent stewards, we will go deep into the financial planning tactics of the high net worth community. You will learn how “the rich” pay so little in taxes, and how that can apply to you. You will learn how the wealthy invest differently than the standard investor. You will learn how the biggest philanthropists in the world maximize the assets they give. All of this will be shared through a lens of understanding the responsibility associated with wealth and its impact on you, your family, and the world around you. In one facet, Eric, in cooperation with his expert guests, will demystify the _complexities and share some of the best strategies in the categories below to help you make informed decisions and grow your wealth. Getting healthy with money Investment portfolio design Real estate investing Alternative assets Tax planning Stewardship Philanthropy Risk assessment Estate planning Insurance Marital finance Succession planning Training the next generation Cash flow To accompany these wealth-enhancing strategies, we will also expose the significant, yet often overlooked, burden that comes with wealth. The increase in depression, suicide, and addiction amongst trust fund beneficiaries has been well documented. The changes people often undergo and the reduction in peace they have as their net worth increases points us to the conclusion that more money is not the answer. If the effects of an increase in finances haven’t been properly planned for, it can be devastating to a family for generations. We aim to equip you with practical and tested tools to transform your increase into a life-giving asset for your consumption and for your impact in the great commission. Eric Scovill considers himself to be a businessman for the Kingdom of God. His Christian faith shapes everything that he does, from the way he leads his family to the way he runs His businesses. Once a contractor, he followed God’s call on his life to leave it all behind and step into the great unknown. Now, he has an exclusive financial planning practice for HNW clients that don’t fit into the mold of the standard financial advisor’s plan. He is a co-founder of a cryptocurrency hedge fund, Bedrock Digital Assets Management, and a venture capital business consulting and syndication company, YouAre Launched. Together, these companies serve his clients and investors to provide a suite of alternative assets that fit inside a highly valuable financial plan tailor-fitted to the individual’s aspirations for their own finances. Wealth, and its impact on humanity, are among the most intriguing concepts worth pondering. The endless pursuit and insatiable craving for more, the collection of knowledge and assets held amongst the elite few, its ability to positively and negatively impact lives, the many teachings devoted to it in the Bible, and yet the relative unimportance placed on it by God; there is much to be studied and understood about this concept called money. The love of it is the root of all evil, yet a proper heart toward it can lead someone into a deeper faith and relationship with Jesus. Eric and his guests are sure to provide the listeners a nearly unquantifiable amount of value, exposing you to solutions you probably didn’t know existed and teaching you how to implement them yourself or with your own financial team. After listening, not only will you know how to maximize your income and your investments like the wealthy, you’ll also know how God’s rules and teachings around money can guide you into exponentially more while also protecting you from the pitfalls of excess wealth. Target audience: A couple seeking the tactical strategies employed by the high net worth community to multiply their wealth through a reduction in what goes out and a multiplication of what has remained within. They are growing in the awareness of the responsibility that accompanies this blessing and desire to be intentional with how money impacts their own lives as well as the lives of others. They want to be effective and efficient in their technical strategies and thorough in the assessment of the intangible effects their wealth brings.

Unlock the power of hedge funds in crypto. In this episode, Eric Scovill continues the conversation with industry veteran Tom Costello to explore the world of hedge funds and their unique strategies, particularly in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency market.
As an experienced quant and former hedge fund manager, Tom shares his expertise on how accredited investors can navigate the complexities of this space and potentially unlock new opportunities for wealth creation.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
Understanding the role and benefits of hedge funds for accredited investors
Tom Costello's extensive background in traditional finance and hedge fund management
The unique carry trade strategy employed by Bedrock Digital Assets, Tom's cryptocurrency-focused hedge fund
Evaluating hedge fund performance using financial databases and third-party validation
Bridging the gap between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency industry
Episode Highlights:
[05:16] The Stark Contrast Between Top-Tier and Underperforming Hedge Funds
The top-tier hedge funds, like Citadel and Tudor, consistently generate billions in profits each year, never losing money, while the smaller, retail-oriented hedge funds that frequently open and close often struggle and lose money, as the large funds have access to immense resources and are run by impeccably honest managers, in contrast to the smaller funds that are more prone to risky or unethical behavior.
[09:49] The Role and Benefits of Hedge Funds
The role of hedge funds is to provide accredited investors with positive cash flow that is uncorrelated to their other investments. Hedge funds are designed to act as a hedge, smoothing out volatility and delivering consistent performance regardless of market conditions. However, success depends on finding a skilled, reliable fund manager capable of executing this strategy effectively.
[40:55] Profiting from Market Inefficiencies
Tom views the hedge fund industry as the most competitive environment, likening it to the Roman gladiator pits. He explains that Bedrock Digital Assets' strategy is to identify mistakes and inefficiencies in the market, particularly the "huge volatility" engineered into the cryptocurrency space, and then find ways to capitalize on them. Leveraging his 30 years of experience in traditional finance, Costello aims to provide accredited investors with a stable, low-volatility investment option by profitably exploiting these market inefficiencies.

Worried about your investments in these uncertain times?
In this episode, Eric Scovill sits down with financial expert Tom Costello to discuss the current state of the economy and the challenges facing investors. From the impact of government policies to the role of the Federal Reserve, Tom provides valuable insights that can help listeners navigate the uncertain times ahead.
Whether you're an individual investor or simply interested in the broader economic landscape, get insights that could help you navigate the road ahead.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
The influence of presidential elections on the stock market
The Federal Reserve's tools and their effectiveness in managing the economy
The growing national debt and the trade-off between inflation and default
Japan's economic struggles and the potential for hyperinflation in the US
The importance of responsible financial behavior and the role of God in personal and governmental decision-making
Episode Highlights:
[05:37] The Impact of Presidential Elections on the Stock Market
Tom shares his perspective on how the personalities and policies of presidential candidates can influence the stock market. He argues that while the individual characteristics of candidates may not have a significant impact, their approach to taxation and government spending can have far-reaching consequences. Tom highlights the contrasting views of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, with Trump favoring a more hands-off approach to the economy and Harris advocating for increased government control.
[13:47] The Federal Reserve's Role in Managing the Economy
Tom explains the Federal Reserve’s dual mandate of keeping unemployment low and maintaining positive economic growth. It has several key tools to manage the economy, including adjusting interest rates and serving as a lender of last resort. By raising or lowering interest rates, the Fed can influence borrowing costs and economic activity.
Additionally, the Fed's ability to provide emergency funding to financial institutions helps maintain system stability. However, the Fed must carefully balance these tools, as overly aggressive rate hikes could trigger recession, while low rates could fuel inflation. It's a delicate equilibrium the Fed must continuously navigate to foster sustainable growth and price stability.
[26:21] The Growing National Debt and the Threat of Hyperinflation
The United States' national debt has now reached over $35 trillion. The government now faces a difficult trade-off between allowing high inflation to gradually erode the real value of this massive debt burden, or the alternative of a selective default, which could have catastrophic global economic consequences. Drawing parallels to Japan's own struggles with an aging population, declining growth, and the need to keep interest rates artificially low to avoid bankrupting the government, Tom warns of the very real dangers of hyperinflation taking hold in the U.S. as well.

Unlock the hidden depths of Scripture and be transformed by the power of God's Word. Join Eric Scovill and Pastor Isaac Schafer as they dive deep into the rich theological tapestry of the Bible.
Discover how God uses imperfect people and angels to carry out His divine purposes and learn how Revelation can awaken believers to spiritual realities and anchor them in the victory of Jesus. Also, gain insight into the foundational role of Genesis in understanding God's plan for humanity, from creation to the brokenness introduced by rebellion.
Don't miss this insightful discussion on navigating the spiritual battle, beautifying the church through evangelism, and balancing violence and peace.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
Exploring the concept of "other gods" and the term "Elohim" in the ancient Near East
God's use of imperfect people and angels to accomplish His plans
The symbolism and cultural context of the book of Revelation
The foundational role of Genesis in understanding God's plan for humanity
Beautifying the church through rescuing people from other gods
Balancing violence and peace in spiritual warfare
Episode Highlights:
[06:40] God's Use of Imperfect Beings and the Significance of Revelation
The Bible reveals that God uses imperfect beings, both people and angels, to accomplish His will, challenging the Western perspective of a monotheistic God. This challenges the traditional view that God only works through perfect vessels, as the Bible clearly shows Him partnering with flawed individuals to carry out His divine purposes. God's use of imperfect beings is a testament to His sovereignty and the importance of relationship, as He desires willing partners rather than mere machines.
[12:18] The Significance of Revelation's Symbolism and Context
The book of Revelation is significant, as it is rich in symbolism that must be understood within its ancient cultural context. Approaching Revelation with this perspective reveals its purpose to awaken believers to the spiritual reality around them, anchor them in the victory of Jesus, and call them to action, rather than simply frightening them with end-times speculation.
[15:17] The Foundational Role of Genesis
Genesis 1-11 serves as a prologue to the entire Bible, setting the stage and context for the rest of God's redemptive work. Genesis establishes the physical and spiritual foundations that the rest of the Scriptures build upon – from the creation of the world to the brokenness introduced by human rebellion.
[20:24] The Importance of Filling the Earth and Subduing Chaos
As God's image-bearers, we are called to take His nature and multiply the environment of flourishing that He created in Eden across the entire earth. The implication is that there was something outside of Eden that needed to be subdued - the chaos that resulted from rebellion against God. Our role as God's representatives is to execute His will for global flourishing, creating an environment where there is free access to everything that will help and nothing that will hurt.
[25:07] Beautifying the Church Through Evangelism
The key to beautifying the church is rescuing people from the influence of other gods and inviting them into the family of God. This goes beyond creating an aesthetically pleasing community, but focuses on the spiritual transformation that occurs when people are delivered from serving false gods and brought into the light of Christ's kingdom. The church is not meant to be a perfect, polished institution, but a gathering of redeemed image-bearers working to multiply God's flourishing across the earth.

As the lines between the physical and spiritual realms continue to blur, how can Christians responsibly engage with the pressing issues of our time without succumbing to extremism or oversimplification?
In this episode, Eric Scovill sits down with Isaac Schafer, a pastor and theological scholar known for his balanced, biblical perspective. Together, they delve into the complex interplay between the spiritual and practical realms, navigating the challenges of current events through the lens of God's truth.
From the assassination attempt on President Trump to the nuances of salvation and holiness, this conversation explores the delicate balance required to address sensitive topics with wisdom and discernment.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
Navigating the bias and spiritual influences in current events
Understanding the concept of "footholds" and demonic influence
Exploring the simplicity and complexity of salvation
Examining the Old Testament perspective on holiness and the cross
Finding balance when addressing cultural and spiritual issues as Christians
Episode Highlights:
[09:16] How Human Choices Can Open Doors for Demonic Influence
The concept of "footholds" refers to how our choices and thought patterns can open the door for demonic influence. The most basic form of a foothold is a way of thinking that goes against God's instructions, such as indulging in alcohol despite biblical warnings against drunkenness. True change comes from renewing the mind to align with God's will, as the enemy first attacks our thought life in an attempt to lead us down a path of rebellion that can then invite more severe spiritual oppression.
[11:13] The Spiritual World and Its Rebellion Against God
The biblical teaching is that God first created the spiritual realm, including angels who later rebelled against Him. When humans also rebel against God, it opens the door for a partnership between physical and spiritual rebellion, which inevitably leads to chaos and destruction. The importance is placed on believing the Bible's account of the spiritual world and not relying solely on external teachings or interpretations.
[19:21] Exploring the Simplicity and Complexity of Salvation
Salvation itself is not complicated - it is about acknowledging Jesus as Lord. However, there are additional layers and nuances that can make it appear more complex. The key is being able to distill the core of salvation down to its most fundamental parts, while still appreciating the richness and depth of the biblical teachings on the topic. True mastery comes from understanding the overall canon of Scripture and being able to communicate the essence of salvation in a clear, concise way.
[26:39] The True Meaning of Holiness
The biblical understanding of holiness is not merely about being sinless, but about being designated as holy and set apart by God. Just because someone is free from sin does not automatically make them holy in God's sight. True holiness can only come from being designated as such by the one who is holy - God himself.

Biblical perspective on managing money and relationships
Developing faith through regular Scripture reading and prayer
Practicing stewardship and delayed gratification
Importance of humility and "controlled strength" in leadership
Finding accountability and support as a Christian business leader
Intentionally prioritizing family time in a busy world
Overcoming fear to pursue goals and personal growth
Episode Highlights:
[13:34] Stewardship and Delayed Gratification in Wealth Management
Daniel emphasizes the importance of stewardship in managing wealth, sharing how he practices delayed gratification. He explains that when he started his business, he put himself on a fixed salary to experience living on a set income while investing the rest. Daniel stresses the concept that ownership stinks stewardship, highlighting the importance of realizing that money is just flowing through you rather than belonging to you.
[20:19] Controlled Strength: Balancing Humility and Power in Leadership
Daniel introducesthe concept of "controlled strength." He emphasizes that true humility isn't about being weak or meek, but rather about having power and ability and choosing to exercise it with restraint. Daniel encourages us to pursue strength and make an impact, but then to exercise humility with that power. He explains that this combination of strength and humility is what makes for true, impactful leadership. Daniel draws parallels to Christ's example, noting how Jesus could have arrived on a stallion but chose a donkey, demonstrating humility while still possessing ultimate power.
[32:11] Prioritizing Family in a Busy World
Daniel shares his approach to intentional family life, discussing how he and his wife have prioritized time with their children and parents despite the demands of a successful business. He emphasizes the importance of setting clear priorities, stating, "If you don't prioritize what's important to you, society will." Daniel explains their decision to homeschool their children and how he integrates his family into his work life. He stresses the significance of modeling good behavior, particularly in honoring one's parents, as this is the only commandment with a promised reward. Daniel describes how he intentionally spends time with his parents, vacationing and talking with them regularly, to set an example for his children. He highlights the importance of being present for his children's activities and prioritizing family time over other interests.

How do you go from immigrant roots to becoming the #1 real estate team leader in California? In this episode, Eric Scovill sits down with Daniel Del Real to discuss managing money from a biblical perspective and his journey of faith in business.
As the #1 team leader in the state for over a decade, Daniel discusses how living a life of service and accountability has allowed him to achieve extraordinary success while staying grounded in his faith. Daniel also reflects on risk, preparation, and staying focused during challenges through applying the lessons of his faith to both his personal life and highly ranked real estate team.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
Importance of accountability in goals and one's faith walk
Daniel’s approach to hiring: values over faith
Why sometimes progress doesn’t look like progress
The 4 C’s of learning
Reframing risk to withstand adversity
Communicative knowledge versus revealed knowledge
Episode Highlights:
[09:08] The Power of Gratitude and Service
While it is amazing to live life with an attitude of gratitude, actively serving others in humility with a spirit of servitude "kicks doors down" and opens up greater opportunities for success and accomplishment. Channeling your gratitude outward through meaningful service towards others takes it to a higher level and allows you to achieve more by helping people.
[10:00] The Power of Accountability
Statistics show that having specific accountability with someone increases the likelihood of achieving one's goals from 20% to 95%. Daniel notes that the highest level of accountability comes from one's relationship with God. He also focuses on creating measurable commitments for employees and scheduling regular check-ins to provide clarity on steps to stay on track.
[13:33] Hiring Based on Core Values Over Faith
When hiring for his team, Daniel says he does not directly screen for faith but rather looks for people whose core values and principles align with the organization's culture, rooted in biblical teachings. Through leading by example and answering questions about how challenges are addressed, the faith of some originally non-believing employees has deepened. Daniel's priority is protecting the culture by ensuring new hires fit with their shared vision and methods of operating.
[18:51] When Progress Doesn't Look Like Progress
Daniel talks about how progress may not always look obvious. He uses building Legos as an example, where daily steps seem repetitive but are making forward movement. Daniel stresses staying faithful to your vision and plan, as progress involves times where it doesn't look like any advancement. But persevering each day through invisible steps will lead to achieving your goal, even if the end result isn't visible yet. His message: keep working, even when progress feels invisible.
[26:30] The 4 C’s of Learning
Commitment - Committing to do something bigger
Courage - Earning courage by walking in some form of fear
Capability - Learning what you're capable of through facing fears
Capacity - Discovering your limits and how far you can go
Daniel explains these four stages are something we go through both in business and in our faith walk. Committing to a goal means facing fears, which helps us learn what we're capable of and build up our capacity through challenging ourselves.
[35:17] The Difference Between Hearing and Experiencing: Communicative vs. Revealed Knowledge
Daniel emphasizes the importance of developing "revealed knowledge" through directly experiencing difficulties and having one's faith tested, rather than solely gaining "communicative knowledge" from others. He explains revealed knowledge provides true understanding that can be relied on when facing challenges, as it has been strengthened through personal trials, unlike knowledge that is simply heard but not lived out.

Episode Highlights:
[04:41] Navigating Spiritual Misalignment in Marriage
Eric shares his experience of when his faith began to deepen at a faster pace than his wife's initial journey. While he tried different approaches to encourage her spiritual growth, it led to tension between them until he surrendered the situation to the Holy Spirit. It took years, but eventually his wife also started her own transformational process without any pushing from Eric. This story highlights the challenges that can come when spouses are not perfectly synchronized in their faith.
[16:29] Modeling Christ-Like Behavior Through Adversity
By pausing to consider how Jesus would respond instead of reacting instinctively, Erik is making an effort to treat others with the same patience, wisdom, and love that Christ displayed. Asking "What would Jesus do?" helps ensure his interactions and decisions are in line with Jesus' example of treating all people with dignity, compassion, and grace – embodying Christ-like characteristics in his daily life and interactions with others.
[20:19] Homeschooling as a Way to Pass on Christian Values
Erik alludes to not handing children over to the state for education, referring to "Caesar" and "Romans" from the Bible. He acknowledges agendas and programming in public schools that as a homeschooling family, they want to avoid exposing their kids to. Through homeschooling their own children, Erik and his wife aim to be conscious of what their children are taught, rather than leaving it up to outside influences that could undermine the faith-based upbringing they are providing at home.
[24:15] Christianity in a Business Setting
Erik shares that he now prays with his Christian COO and other employees each day in meetings. While he has not yet incorporated prayer into larger team meetings, he plans to do so in the future. Erik expresses that most of his clients and team members are now also Christian. By openly bringing his faith into the workplace through prayer, Erik has been able to attract like-minded clients and staff and build a culture centered around his Christian beliefs.

He says the message he received from God was "You're here to spread love" - not through words, but through a feeling deep in his heart. Erik conveys how this experience gave him a clear sense of mission that has guided him ever since, which was to spread love in everything he does. It's a very personal account of receiving divine revelation and clarity about his life's work.
[15:15] Embracing Humility Through Faith
When praised for changes, he cries knowing it's not by his efforts alone. Erik sees himself as a "vessel" for God's work, simply following God's lead rather than taking credit. His faith reshaped his mindset from self-importance to acknowledging God's role, demonstrating humility's importance in Erik's journey.
[23:32] Growth in Language, Temptations, and Self-Care Through Deepening Faith
Erik touches on eliminating swearing from his language, an area he had previously been working to improve. Erik also reflects candidly on struggles with lust and temptation, while prioritizing caring for his "temple" or health. Erik discusses the devil's temptation tactics through technology and pornography accessibility. He notes the symbolic parallels between the Apple logo and Eden's serpent. Erik advocates awareness of such temptations and avoiding platforms that perpetuate them.
[32:35] Pruning Gossip for Progress
Erik discusses how even as part of his spiritual growth journey, he noticed gossip occurring among some Christian mothers in his homeschool community. While their faith seemed strong, he recognized gossip was not constructive behavior. This led Erik to make an effort to "prune" or remove gossip from his own life as he sought to strengthen his relationship with God.

Renu's patented pyrolysis technology converts plastic into oil without emissions, circulating resources back into the economy.
Alex explains how carbon and plastic credits incentivize emission reductions by funding offsetting projects. Also, learn about Renu's multi-pronged business model, which provides sustainable recycling options for plastic producers while generating returns through private impact investments. Discover this opportunity to both support environmental solutions and plastic waste diversion through private markets.
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
The global plastic waste problem and lack of recycling
Environmental financial assets like carbon and plastic credits
Renu Environmental's consulting, trading, and technology business pillars
God's instructions in Genesis to care for the earth
Renu's pyrolysis technology and small footprint recycling machines
Potential returns from investing in Renu's pre-money valuation
Episode Highlights:
[03:33] The Immense Scale of the Global Plastic Waste Problem
Approximately 400 million tons of plastic are produced annually worldwide, yet only about 10% of that plastic actually gets recycled. The rest ends up in landfills or the environment. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is an example of a major issue created by plastic waste. It’s a floating island of plastic debris in the Pacific Ocean that is the size of the entire U.S. state of Texas.
[08:14] How Environmental Financial Assets Incentivize Emissions Reduction
Environmental credits provide a key source of funding for sustainability projects. By generating and selling credits to offsetting buyers, these assets support initiatives like recycling, renewable energy and other ventures addressing environmental issues that may struggle to attract traditional investment. The credit market enables valuable green solutions to be realized through this innovative financing mechanism.
[16:29] Renu Environmental's Three-Pronged Business Model
Renu Environmental operates under three key business pillars - consulting, trading, and technology. The consulting arm provides services to help companies reduce their environmental footprint organically or through credit purchases. Renu also houses an in-house trading desk that assists with the sale of environmental credits. On the technology side, Renu has developed a patented pyrolysis process that converts plastic waste into oil using small footprint machines, which are either deployed at Renu's own conversion facilities or leased to end users for on-site recycling.
[24:00] Renu's Efficient Pyrolysis Technology
Renu has developed a patented pyrolysis process to convert plastic waste into oil using compact machines. Each machine processes 10,000 tons of plastic per year within a small 3000 square foot footprint. Renu plans to both operate their own conversion facilities as well as lease machines to end users for on-site recycling, providing a sustainable solution for plastic producers through their efficient pyrolysis technology.

You won't believe the plastic waste stats - did you know 250 garbage trucks of plastic enter the environment every hour? Spanning land and sea, the scale of humanity's plastic waste problem is immense.
In this episode, Eric Scovill sits down with Alex Smith, founder of Renu Environmental, to discuss how to address the global plastic waste problem through private equity investment in circular recycling methods. Alex discusses his company's groundbreaking technology that recycles plastic waste into new plastic products with zero emissions – definitely a game-changer!
Here are some topics from today’s discussion:
The scale of the plastic waste problem globally and in the US
Limitations of traditional plastic recycling methods
Advancements in pyrolysis technology for plastic recycling
Renu Environmental's zero-emissions plastic recycling process
Potential for creating a circular plastic economy
Episode Highlights:
[04:15] The Staggering Scale of the Global Plastic Waste Problem
The scale of the global plastic waste problem is immense. An astounding 2.4 billion pounds of plastic waste is exported annually from the US alone, with over 900 million tons already accumulated in landfills. Plastic usage is projected to triple globally by 2050 based on current trends, with the equivalent of 250 garbage trucks full of plastic being dumped into the environment every hour. Unless addressed, the unchecked rise of plastic pollution will continue to damage the planet.
[08:10] The Challenges of Mechanical Plastic Recycling
Each time plastic is mechanically recycled, it deteriorates in quality. Plastic can only be recycled a few times before it is destined for landfill. Additionally, bottle manufacturers are only able to use a certain percentage of recycled plastic in their products, unlike paper which can be 100% recycled material. These limitations mean that mechanical recycling alone cannot create a truly circular system for plastic waste.
[11:17] Plastic Waste and Its Impact on the Environment
Around 22 million tonnes of plastic leak into the environment each year - equivalent to 250 garbage trucks daily. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, larger than Texas, is described as a huge accumulation in the Pacific Ocean. Much plastic comes from countries improperly disposing of waste in rivers and oceans, threatening wildlife that consumes microplastics.
[21:41] Advancing Pyrolysis: Renu Environmental's Proprietary Emissions-Free Plastic Recycling Process
Advancements in pyrolysis technology for plastic recycling are discussed. Early methods simply burned plastics but the technology has significantly advanced. Renu Environmental works with an inventor with over 30 years experience researching pyrolysis. Their proprietary technology precisely heats plastic in an oxygen-free vacuum through thermal decomposition, allowing plastic types to break down at precise temperatures capturing vapors without emissions. Previous methods emitted significantly but Renu Environmental's process eliminates emissions.
